‘This Mirror Weighs a Ton’ finds Interpol turning inward while continuing to move forward. Across the record, reflection, distortion and perception become a lens through which familiar shapes are refracted into something slightly alien, as if seen through a different kind of light. Synthesizers, strings, acoustic guitars and percussion are integrated into the fabric of the songs, expanding the palettewhile revealing colours already latent within it. Nothing feels imposed.
